How to get to John Wood City Stay by…
Due to the central location of John Wood City Stay, we don’t have a car park. The nearest is Avon Street car park, however we’d recommend using public transport, which will be a cheaper option for your stay in Bath.
Our nearest bus stop is on Avon Street, just after the hostel. Buses 1, 5, A4 and U5 stop here. We’re also just a five minute walk from the main bus station, where many other buses stop too. Take a look at the First Group website for further information.
You can travel to Bath by National Express coach or Megabus, which both stop at Bath bus station, a five minute walk from John Wood City Stay. The Megabus provides cheap rides to London and offers discounts for NUS card holders as well, perfect if you’re travelling around the UK.
Trains from London Paddington to Bath Spa railway station take just 90 minutes. It’s also only 15 minutes on the train from Bristol Temple Meads, a major hub for travel to the rest of the country. Bath Spa train station is seven minute walk away from the hostel.
The nearest airport to Bath is Bristol Airport, 20 miles away. Once you’ve landed here, you can reach Bath using the A4 Bristol to Bath bus service, or by taking the Bristol Airport Flyer bus to Bristol Temple Meads railway station and getting a train to Bath Spa. If you’re flying into London Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton or Stansted, there’s good rail and bus connections to take you to Bath as well.
